Description

Late/Wet Switchgrass PackDuo (2 doses)

The combination of these two varieties is the winning formula for wet and/or deep soils.

1 dose of RC BigRock 12kg + 1 dose of RC Chippewa 12kg

This combination of two varieties will provide you with several advantages:

– rapid germination and establishment in the field
– good weed control in wet areas
– increased alternate bearing capacity**
– better management of excess water during winter
– optimized yield
– improved machinery load-bearing capacity during harvest

(**Alternative bearing capacity: the ability of a plant to complete its full vegetative cycle. It characterizes the earliness of varieties, which are classified as early, late, or intermediate.)

The Late/Wet Switchgrass PackDuo (2 doses) consists of two 12kg doses to sow an area of 2 hectares.

One dose of RC BigRock Switchgrass + one dose of RC Chippewa Switchgrass. The combination of these two varieties is a winning formula for wet and/or deep soils. This duo is also highly productive in very healthy conditions.

How I use it: I primarily use it for my alternative bedding and forage production. Other uses include biomass production, hunting cover, planting in catchment areas or no-spray zones, and stabilizing soils, banks, and hillsides, limiting erosion and contributing to the ecological improvement of the environment.

* RC Chippewa Switchgrass is tall and robust with thick, rigid stems, more upright than other varieties. It maintains good productivity with little rainfall and is suitable for wildlife as shelter. As an alternative to straw bedding, it has excellent absorbency.

Drought resistance is this variety’s major advantage. It also thrives in deep soils. Big game loves this variety. Develop your hunting grounds with it. You can also find it in the Switchgrass mix – Early/Drying Duo Pack, composed of RC Sundance + RC Chippewa.
RC Chippewa can be used extensively. Plant it around catchment areas or grassy no-spray zones. It will produce abundant, high-quality hay.

* The RC BigRock Switchgrass variety is tall and fairly fine. It performs very well in wet conditions and has the advantage of being late-maturing, allowing it to continue its cycle smoothly after summer. It provides dense shelter for wildlife. Furthermore, as an alternative to straw bedding, it also has excellent absorbency.

Its powerful root system is adapted to deep, moist soil. It will stabilize the soil and allows for harvesting on stabilized ground.

I appreciate it for its versatility, whether for land development or as animal feed.

The RC BigRock variety is planted around catchment areas or grassy no-treatment zones. I will recommend this variety for abundant, high-quality hay.

Like the Alternative Pack (3 doses), the proposed mix consists of bags of seeds from different varieties to be mixed by the user.
