Switchgrass

Variety: Alamo
Packaging: 12 kg dose (equivalent to 1 hectare)
Perennial grass, native variety, germination 20-25 days, establishes in 2 years, height 180-200 cm

The Alamo variety is versatile and hardy, suitable for all soil types.
The tall switchgrass varieties RC BigRock, RC Chippewa, RC Tecumseh, and RC Sundance are better suited to large game.

When mixed, these two varieties will help homogenize your plots, depending on the year and soil type.

A clustered, island-like planting attracts large game, while a narrow, elongated planting (3-6 meters wide) attracts small game.

All areas, no matter how small, are suitable for cultivation.

If these plots are attractive to wildlife, they could even prevent damage to neighboring agricultural fields. Perennial plants like switchgrass or miscanthus provide shelter or refuge for all species. They are of fundamental importance during periods when field crops are not yet fully developed, offering hiding places or protection from predators.

Well-organized plots with switchgrass of varying heights are attractive to game. Arranged in strips or islands, they allow you to practice walked-up hunting, alone or in a group, in a suitable area, reminiscent of traditional hunting practices.

Switchgrass is a dense ground cover that provides refuge for insects. The density of matter creates a quiet place for game to nest or reproduce. The organic matter in the soil produces a significant mulch, retains moisture, and thus increases the activity of insects and earthworms. Consequently, it’s an ecosystem that regains its balance.

Alamo is an old, unimproved variety that is well-known.
